Our focus and mission

Albums and Such... Some Venting on Digital Streaming

Space Bear Records recognizes a loss in quality and the original intent of how many artists intended their music to be experienced. We understand we are not going to change the big names (such as Apple Music, Amazon, Spotify, YouTube, etc) or their customers from experiencing music as isolated music events—things that were meant to be a part of something bigger reduced to a small event. For example, you may not want to sit through hours of opera to arrive at a crowd-pleasing 'Ride of the Valkyries' or an hour of symphony to hear 'Ode to Joy.'

Our invitation is simple. Enjoy the music as it was meant, from beginning to end. It might be 40 minutes | 20 minutes | 5 minutes | 30 seconds |40 hours. A 'track' might be 30 minutes to present a complete song or the first half of a concert program. Let the artist that created the music decide. Granted, we cannot police how you decide to experience the program; however, we can be stubborn to an integrity that we will not splice up the music into little bits (tracks) or throw commercials into the middle of a music performance, so frequently done with digital streaming.

Application of Labels

Our focus is on the artistry of living music composers. Can you throw that in a box? Probably not. Can we make subjective judgments as to quality. Probably yes. We accept music from composers and we will share it at our choosing. We can't say what tags would be used as descriptors—anything we decide to put out to the world will be (in our opinion) unique and represent unfiltered creativity. Will there be moments of uncomfortableness or unbridled emotions, we hope so. Will it be popular? To be determined, but we appreciate you taking the time to listen.

At Space Bear Records we love music that is

At Space Bear Records we love the sensations we feel when we experience the music we love as music-makers or music-listeners... sensations of increasing (or decreasing) blood flow, goosebumps, fullness, a natural highness, pleasure, numbness, uncontrollable dance movements, and then some.

We crave music that is—human.
